Andersen's practice is strongly influenced by his personal life journey as he explores themes of solitude, relationships, fear, violence, and desire. Through each of his paintings, he investigates what it means for people to live simultaneously with joy and pain.

Andersen Woof (b. China, 1989) is a visual artist based in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Formally trained in landscape architecture and urban design, Andersen has a passion for form-making and the interplay between shape and colour. He is fascinated by the emotional impact physical spaces have on human beings. His often ambiguous and sometimes absurd narratives invite the viewer to reflect upon the complex nature of relationships. Stories with open endings are left to linger in our minds. As an Asian and gay immigrant living in the United States, Andersen's practice is strongly influenced by his personal life journey as he explores themes of solitude, relationships, fear, violence, and desire. Through each of his paintings, he investigates what it means for people to live simultaneously with joy and pain.
